Antique Mazarin Chandeliers

antique mazarin chandelier

Mazarin chandeliers are among the most impressive forms of classical European lighting. They are characterized by richly decorated central bodies, elegantly curved light arms and elaborate ornamental details. Typical decorative elements include acanthus leaves, masks, female heads, ram's heads, vase-shaped bodies and other sculptural motifs.

The design of the Mazarin chandelier is closely associated with the decorative language of the Louis XIV and Régence styles. These designs continued to inspire chandelier makers throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, with examples produced in bronze, gilt bronze and brass. This resulted in numerous variations, ranging from traditional French models to large and highly decorative later interpretations.

This category presents our selection of antique and vintage Mazarin chandeliers from different periods and European countries. Many are exceptional individual pieces distinguished by elaborate craftsmanship, substantial construction and a magnificent architectural presence.

Our Mazarin chandeliers and other historic European lighting can also be viewed at our showroom in Berlin, Germany. Worldwide shipping is available.
