Tall Antique Art Nouveau Chandelier with Cherubs – Gold Bronze – Satin Petal Shades – 7 Lights
Offered is this exceptional and highly decorative Art Nouveau chandelier with seven lights, dating from around 1900.
The body is made of solid bronze with a beautiful gold-bronze patina and has an impressive weight of approximately 14 kg, reflecting its high quality craftsmanship.
The design is a wonderful example of French Art Nouveau, characterized by flowing organic forms and naturalistic decoration.
A particularly striking feature are the beautiful sculpted cherub figures arranged around the central body. These figures appear to move gracefully around the chandelier while supporting the elegant light arms.
Between the cherubs run finely modelled branches, leaves and floral ornaments, typical for the naturalistic style of the Art Nouveau period.
The chandelier has an elegant tall suspension construction with twisted rods that meet in a decorative crown at the top, giving the piece a very graceful appearance.
Each of the seven arms carries a beautiful satin glass shade shaped like a rose petal, creating a very soft and warm light.
The combination of:
- sculptural cherubs
- floral bronze decorations
- delicate rose-petal glass shades
makes this chandelier a particularly charming and expressive example of Art Nouveau lighting from around 1900.
The chandelier is in excellent condition.
