Magnificent Spanish Crystal Chandelier with Cherub Figure, Gilt Bronze and 120 Crystals – 12 Lights, 1960s
Offered is this magnificent Spanish crystal chandelier dating from the 1960s. The body is made of solid brass and gilt bronze with a beautiful aged patina, weighing approximately 16 kg. Its impressive design and high-quality craftsmanship make it a remarkable centerpiece for elegant interiors.
Six gracefully curved arms carry a total of 12 lights fitted with original red candle sleeves and finely cut glass bobeches. Beneath the candleholders are 12 rare cut-crystal dishes that add an additional level of refinement and luxury.
The chandelier is adorned with approximately 120 sparkling crystal pendants in a variety of shapes, including spear prisms, faceted drops, scalloped pendants and other finely cut crystal elements. Together they create a stunning display of light and rainbow reflections.
A particularly striking feature is the large cherub figure forming the central supporting column. The elegant putto carries the richly decorated upper bowl adorned with fruit and foliage motifs, lending the chandelier a noble and highly decorative appearance. The upper crown is embellished with large crystal prisms, while a substantial solid crystal ball forms the lower finial.
