8 Lights · Crystal Adorned · Spain, 1960s
This remarkable Spanish chandelier from the 1960s combines sculptural elegance with impressive craftsmanship.
Executed in solid, heavy brass, the chandelier has a substantial weight of approximately 12 kg, reflecting the quality and material richness typical of Spanish lighting of this period. The design is deeply ornamental, yet balanced and harmonious.
At the heart of the piece stands a beautifully sculpted cherub (putto), forming the central supporting column. This figure gives the chandelier a strong architectural presence while adding a graceful, almost poetic character.
The chandelier is adorned with 56 high-quality crystal pendants, carefully arranged to catch and refract the light. When illuminated, the crystals create a refined sparkle with subtle rainbow reflections. A large solid glass sphere forms the lower termination and visually anchors the composition.
Eight elegantly curved arms extend from the richly decorated body, each fitted with candle-style sockets. The proportions are generous, making this chandelier ideal for living rooms, dining areas, galleries or representative entrance spaces.
