An exceptionally elegant and unusually tall antique chandelier, crafted from brass and complemented by three beautifully frosted and cut glass shades.
Dating from approximately the 1920s, the chandelier combines a finely constructed brass framework with classical and floral ornamentation. Its tall central stem is surrounded by gracefully curved supports decorated with scrolling acanthus leaves, giving the chandelier a particularly light and architectural appearance.
The centerpiece is a large frosted glass bowl held within an elaborate pierced brass gallery. Finely modeled floral and rose garlands decorate the surrounding frame and emphasize the refined craftsmanship of the piece.
Two elongated matching glass shades are positioned on either side. All three shades feature delicate transparent cut decoration against the satin-frosted glass, including star motifs, elegant swags and stylized foliage.
When illuminated, the satin glass diffuses the light softly while the polished cut details catch the light and become beautifully visible.
The brass surface retains its naturally developed gold-bronze patina with subtle traces of age. This surface has deliberately been preserved, giving the chandelier its warm and authentic antique appearance.
With an impressive body height of approximately 120 cm, the chandelier has exceptionally elegant proportions. Its relatively slender diameter of 66 cm makes it particularly suitable for rooms with high ceilings without appearing excessively wide or heavy.
A beautiful and highly decorative period light suitable for an entrance hall, dining room, living room or sophisticated classical interior.
